Tampa Zen Center is a community of 'spiritual friends' who meet each week to sit in silence as well as have discussions about meditation practice. We utilize a traditional Zen posture and simple forms.
Tampa Zen Center offers traditional Zen Meditation in Tampa every Saturday at the Chapel on the University of Tampa Campus starting at 9:30 a.m. The School of Soto Zen Buddhist practice came through China, India and Japan before Zen Master Shunryu Suzuki Roshi brought it to San Francisco in the 1950s. Experienced and beginners are welcome. Instruction and Meditation practice are free or by donation. Wear loose, comfortable clothing. Zafus and zabotons are provided. Please plan to stay for cleaning as this is part of our practice. Interested persons may sign-up to recieve our e-mail newsletter.

12:00 AM - 12:30 PM Work Period/ Coffee, Tea & Baked Goods
This schedule includes two 30-minute sitting meditations. Those wishing to participate in only one meditation period should arrive at 10:30 AM and may join us in the zendo during kinhin. We currently allow late entry but encourage you to be on time.
