When the lights of downtown St. Petersburg begin to shimmer on the Gulf waters, St. Petersburg nightlife comes alive. With warm, subtropical nights and miles of gentle coastline, St. Petersburg nightlife has a romantic, beach feel. Jimmy B's on the boardwalk is an ideal nightlife spot for mingling with locals and listening to live music (every night of the week) while St. Petersburg's entertainment epicenter, Bay Walk, boasts a full floor of bars and clubs, including martini lounges and dance clubs. In downtown St. Petersburg, the jazz on Central is legendary—St Petersburg jazz clubs boast some of the best jazz in Florida. Just outside of downtown St. Petersburg, the "Trop" (officially Tropicana Field, home of the St. Petersburg's Tampa Bay Rays baseball team) hosts an active variety of St. Petersburg sports bars.
